The Boston Celtics escaped with a 133-128 overtime win over the Indiana Pacers in Game 1 of the 2024 Eastern Conference finals on Tuesday.
The Pacers, who were looking to take a 1-0 lead in the series, played well in the first half and led by as many as 10 points. However, the Celtics came back in the second half and tied the game with just over a minute remaining in regulation.
In overtime, the Celtics took control of the game and outscored the Pacers 10-3 to win the game.
The Pacers will look to even the series when they host the Celtics in Game 2 on Thursday.
In other news, the Pacers protected home court in Game 6 of their series against the New York Knicks, winning 116-100.
Pascal Siakam led the Pacers with 25 points, while Myles Turner added 21 points and 10 rebounds.
The Knicks were led by Julius Randle, who had 20 points.
The Pacers will now travel to New York for Game 7 on Friday.
