Gilgo Beach Serial Killer Suspect Faces Charges in Six Deaths
New Evidence Uncovered
Rex Heuermann, a 60-year-old former architect already charged with four murders in the Long Island serial killings, has now been charged with two more deaths. Suffolk County, New York, prosecutors presented new evidence against Heuermann, including a "blueprint to kill," during a recent arraignment hearing.
Bail Denied
Prosecutors successfully argued against bail for Heuermann, citing the seriousness of the charges and the potential flight risk. Heuermann, who has pleaded not guilty to all charges, is currently in custody awaiting trial.
The Gilgo Beach killings have remained unsolved for over a decade, with the victims' bodies discovered along a remote stretch of beach in 2010 and 2011. Heuermann's arrest last July marked a significant development in the case.
